Summary: A lot of you probably don't know about this franchise, but the skinny of it is that every so often, director Robert Rodriguez loses his mind and decides to make a movie starring kids surrounded by awful yet crazy CGI antics and expects us to laugh at it. More times than not, we're just left scratching our heads. But at least in this case, he attracted us for specific reasons, not the least of which being Steve Buscemi of all things.

History: Carmen and Juni Cortez are a couple of top-secret spies only now getting used to saving the world when the adults can't. But now, they've been sent on their most harrowing mission yet. For somewhere on a faraway island, there is the Transmooker, a device that can shut off all other devices, and potentially give those the ability to take over the world. But there is more to this paradise. It is called "the Island of Lost Dreams" for a reason. You see, the eccentric Dr. Romero was developing a miniature zoo full of small animal hybrids for children, but upon growing them, they became gigantic and menaced him into living forever alone at the base of a volcano. All of this and more will make the Cortez twins' quest all the more treacherous.

Final Fate: Eventually, with Juni's encouragement, Romero reconnects with his creations, and after the Transmooker is sabotaged and the villain loses, the device is eaten by a Slizzard. The twins and their family/friends depart from the island, but not before Romero gives Carmen a mini Spider Monkey in good grace.

Powers/Abilities: The Spider Monkey can fire web from his abdomen, and is shown to be quite intelligent compared to the rest of his brethren.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2-Despite some intriguing creature design, the CGI looks like something out of a slightly above-average PS3 game, and that's us at our most generous. There’s also the fact that most of them are actually quite friendly, even the initially hostile skeletons.

Trivia: -Believe it or not, Rodriguez was offered more money for this film's effects budget, but he denied it in favor of having more creative control.

-Somehow, one of the major scenes in this film was able to be shot in the Capitol Building of Austin, Texas.
